Vision: Harriet Fitzgerald and the Abingdon Square Painters
In 1938, Fitzgerald, born and raised in Danville, won an award in a competition sponsored by the American Artists’ Congress. A founding member and president of Abingdon Square Painters in New York City, she was in demand as a highly respected lecturer nationally as well as locally at Stratford College. Over 50 paintings from past and current Abingdon Square Painters and Harriet Fitzgerald will be on display for this exhibition in the Jennings Gallery at Danville Museum.
