Art on the Lawn Wrap-up
Exhibiting their artwork were: Jana Baker, Kenneth Bond, Doug Cave, Celtic Pottery (Janet Gaddy, Tim Moran, Jeremy Lea), Becky Crane, Linda Gourley, Deborah Graham, Norma Martin, William Moore, Jr.,Glenn Scarboro, Jonathan Scollo, and the Swanson Studio Potters Tom Duren, Amparo Hutchinson, Tom and Marie Moody.
As art lovers leisurely strolled the grounds of the Sutherlin Mansion, they were treated to the sounds of soft jazz played and sung by Dave and Lola Youngman, who came from Raleigh. Hotdogs, hamburgers and sausages were available for purchase as well as cool drinks. The vendor was Just Jlicious Kooking and Concessions.
There was a Special Performance by the young actors of North Star Productions who presented Exit Stage Left at 10:30, 12:30 and 2:30.
The childrens "green" art area used recycled materials to make a colorful fish for a bamboo fishing pole, egg shell mosaic pictures, and styrofoam sculptures.
Judging Art on the Lawn was Lee Fowlkes, Executive Director of the Caswell County Civic Denter in Yanceyville, North Carolina. Winners were Glenn Scarboro, the Gordon Neal Memorial Award and Celtic Pottery, William Moore, and Linda Gourley, Awards of Distinction. Glenn's art is photography; William is a woodturner, and Linda is a printmaker.
