These plates need to dry before being printed so this will be a two-part workshop. One workshop will be building the printing plate/plates and the next workshop on October 22 will be printing the plates. Collography (sometimes spelled collagraphy) was introduced in 1955 by Glen Alps, who was a University of Washington professor teaching a printmaking process in which materials are applied to a rigid substrate (such as paperboard or wood). The word is derived from the Greek word koll or kolla, meaning glue, and graph, meaning the activity of drawing.
