Learn to knit and crochet with Helen Earle and Felice McWilliams. They will be going over basic techniques so you can start working on your own fiber art project for our Wanderlove: A Stitch in Time. If you already know how to knit or crochet, bring your project over and work on it with others. This workshop is for demonstrating techniques and creating small knitted pieces for the Yarn Bombing Fiber Art Project, which will be collected for installation in June. We will also be demonstrating how to sew together recycled sweaters for use in the installation. All materials supplied by the museum will remain the property of the museum to be used in this Community Project.
Please bring your own needles, hooks and yarn if you have them. There will be some supplies at the museum, but these supplies can not be brought home, so best to bring your own.
To register for this free workshop, email us at firstname.lastname@example.org. We will only allow five knitters a time. Everybody has to wear masks and stay distanced. Everyone's temperatures will be taken. Tea and Coffee will be available.
