On Friday October 2, local historians Gary Grant, and Kendall Ratliffe (Danville Historical Society President) met with Elsabe Dixon (Museum ED) to discuss the two Confederate monuments on the Museum Campus.


State Museum Associations Day

This is the week we celebrate State Museum Associations Day, along with our SMA colleagues across the country. Whether advocating for museums, offering training and career services, or creating opportunities to connect, the Danville Museum of Fine Arts and History, along with other organizations like VAM is proud to serve Virginia, Danville, Pittsylvania County and the greater museum community. If you have ever wanted to know more about the silkscreening process but thought it would be too difficult, think again. The Silkscreening Is for Everyone Workshop offered at the museum is for beginners through advanced. Come give it a try!
 
Swanson Studio will Silkscreen on the second last Thursday of October, so stop on by on the 22nd to learn how to silkscreen your own mask and also bring an old T-shirt that needs a new life! We will be silk-screening on paper and fabric. If you have ever wanted to know more about the silk-screening process but thought it would be too difficult, think again.
 
Workshop participation fee is $20 for members of the museum and $25 for those still thinking about supporting their one and only Danville Museum.
