Despite the challenging economy, the Museum is holding its own, thanks to grant monies awarded by foundations as well as extremely generous and interested members of the community.
Corning Incorporated Foundation has granted $1000 to help underwrite Minds Wide Open: Year of the Woman next March 26 –May 3
The Local Government Challenge Grant has made a grant of $900 to help underwrite Minds Wide Open: Year of the Woman.
The Womack Foundation has awarded $3400 to offer art focus sessions for Headstart programs in Danville and Chatham, and for the kindergarten program at Grove Park School in Danville.
The Museum received $750 towards our Fall exhibition What If Our Walls Could Talk: Sutherlin Mansion 1859 – 2009 from the Morotock Fund of the Community Foundation of the Dan River Region.
We have received $1000 from the Dan River Inc. Fund of the Community Foundation of the Dan River Region to be used for general operations.
The Virginia Commission for the Arts awarded $14,015 for general operating support.
