Danville Museum’s Development/Executive Director
The new Danville Museum Development/Executive Director is Katherine Milam, a native of Baltimore, Maryland and resident of Danville since 1990.
Kathy attended Friends School of Baltimore and graduated from Emory University with a Bachelor of Arts degree in History of Art. She is a certified paralegal and certified in nonprofit management through Duke University Continuing Studies.
She was previously employed by Danville-Pittsylvania Community Services as agency Grant Writer and as Development Coordinator for the Danville Museum.
She is active in several long-standing civic organizations, and served as President of Danville-Riverview Rotary, Garden Club of Danville, and Danville Concert Association. She currently serves on the Board of Directors for the Dan River Nonprofit Network.
She is married to Circuit Court Judge Joseph Milam and is the mother of Walton Milam, an attorney in Richmond, and Wallis Milam, a high school teacher in New Orleans.
Kathy is happy to be serving in a leadership role within an organization dedicated to the arts and local history. She welcomes participation in the Danville Museum’s activities by all sectors of the community.
